Eddie Grey is a multi-faceted composer, arranger, songwriter, and sound designer whose successful track record speaks for itself. The Los Angeles-based musician began playing with synthesizers and writing on computer programs at an early age, eventually beginning a musical education that would take him into the world of composing and songwriting.

But how did Eddie adapt to the industry, what has been his biggest surprise along the way and what advice would he give his past self?

Can you describe your music in three words?

I am a Professional Composer that is versatile, well-produced, and authentic.

 

How have you adapted musically?

I have adapted to the many changes in the music world by learning the technology necessary to get the job done. I make it a point to learn something about this industry every single day.

 
 
 
 
 

Is there any other aspect of the industry you’d like to dabble in?

Certainly...I would love to get into Music Supervision as they are "Composers" in their own right. I love editing, love creating samples, and media content too.

 

What has surprised you most about the music industry?

What has surprised me the most about this industry is how you have to be an outstanding Entrepreneur to really make it big. The music is only a part of the equation, the other half is administration, sales skills, accounting, etc.

 

What is one thing you’d like to change about the music industry?

To remove the selfish egotism that runs some of the bigger companies. My belief is that we can all have a generous slice of the pie if we work hard and contribute.

 
 
 
 
 

If you could go back to before you started out and tell yourself one thing, what would it be?

I would hop in the DMC Delorean and tell myself that everything is working out in an amazing fashion. Make sure to sleep and keep exercising.
